Course Overview:

The ideal qualification if you’re just starting your career in supply chain management (Procurement/Logistics) are part of your role. It will enable you to recognise and describe the key processes in procurement and build your Professional knowledge and competence.

Entry requirements:

­­Only for those with Matric pass lower than D e.g H and all subjects are acceptable. This is the lowest entry level for anybody wanting to study towards a supply chain management course

Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

Overview:

Designed for those in an operational role who need the capability to carry out procurement and supply tasks. You will develop the knowledge to understand demand management, arrange supply logistics and implement new contracts.

Entry requirements:

Matric pass with D and English at level 4. All subjects are acceptable. Alternatively those who have completed the CIPS Certificate in Procurement & Supply Operations (level 2) will be considered.

Duration:

6 months (full time)/ 12 months part time

Diploma in Procurement and Supply

Overview:

A valuable management tool for those moving into junior and middle management supply chain roles or those supervising the procurement function. It focuses on organisational procedures and processes including negotiating, planning, risk management and data analysis.

Entry requirements:

For matriculants, a matric pass with a D or higher including English at not less than level 4 and all subjects are acceptable OR  you must have a CIPS Advance Certificate in Procurement & Supply (level 4) or National Certificate in Supply Chain Management (NQF level 5)

Alternatively, for the working class/professionals, a minimum of 2 years professional experience is required (in any field, doesn’t have to be supply chain/procurement/logistics).

The CIPS Diploma level is the highest entry level of all CIPS accredited Supply Chain Courses/Programs.

Duration:

18 -24 months full time (Matrics only). Alternatively 12 months part time (Professionals/Working class)

Overview:

Provides senior supply chain specialists/procurement specialists, senior buyers, contract and supply chain managers with the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. It gives you the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.

Entry requirements:

Only those with the CIPS Diploma in Procurement & Supply are eligible to apply or at least you must have completed and passed at least 3(three) modules from the CIPS Diploma level

Duration:

12 months part time (Only)

MCIPS Professional licence via mer (management entry route)

MCIPs is recognized worldwide as the global standard for top quality supply chain/procurement/logistics professionals. It is a professional accreditation for those working in supply chain management. Successful candidates may use the designatory letters MCIPs after their name.

Entry requirements:

You must complete (by assessment/international exams the Diploma, Advanced diploma and Professional diploma in procurement and supply  or exemption/MER – for those in senior management positions) . You also need at least 3 years’ experience in a position of responsibility in supply chain management(e.g. procurement, logistics etc).
